Yes, you read that right, we got a puppy. After many years of contemplating and begging (on our kid’s part) we decided it was time. When my husband and I were dating he had a rottweiler named Woody, after we were married, Woody became OUR dog. He was the sweetest and most protective dog I’ve ever known. We had to put Woody to sleep when I was pregnant with our first child. We’ve never owned another dog since. Now that the two oldest kids are 10 and 8, they have convinced us that they are responsible enough to take care of a dog. So we caved discussed it thoroughly and decided summer would be the perfect time to get a puppy since my husband is off (he’s is a teacher) and he could supervise the puppy training. So far it’s been pretty smooth. Of course, we have gone through a bottle of Resolve carpet cleaner because of all of the potty accidents, and my husband isn’t very happy with the fact that the puppy has eaten all of his plastic lily pads that used to decorate our fountain. Today we left the puppy outside while we took our kids to a San Francisco Giants game and we came home to find the puppy ate a big chunk of one of my rose bushes (I guess the thorns weren’t much of a deterrent). But he is soooo cute! How could we possibly be made at him?
